Still there in a memory

When I close my eyes

I still see her

There,

Naked,

Wrapped in a sheet,

Hair across her

Sweaty face,

Smiling

In her sleep.

The glow of her

Skin,

Still

Moist,

In the dark,

Light coming in

Between hastily closed

Curtains,

Spilling

Across the room,

To the bed

And her naked body.

If I squeeze

The memories further,

I can even smell

Her/ us,

And remember

The taste

Of her

On my lips and tongue.

I can feel

The bumps on her skin

As the chill

And tickle

Of my touch

In the dark,

Brings her skin to life-

Even if only

In my mind,

My heart,

And tattered memory.
